Born on this day 1873: W. C. Handy, American composer and musician known as the “Father of the Blues” (Memphis Blues, St Louis Blues), born in Florence, Alabama He died in 1958. In 1916 Herb Abramson, producer, songwriter and co-founder of Atlantic records was born. He produced Tommy Tucker’s 1964 hit ‘High Heeled Sneakers.’ He died on 9th November 1999.

Brad Martin is a long-time friend of the Music Circus and Melody Tent. If you’ve ever called after hours and listened to our show listing, if you’ve ever heard a Melody Tent ad on any of the Cape’s iHeart  radio stations, you’ve heard Brad’s voice. Brad has been the voice of the Melody Tent for more than 15 years. He also hosts the afternoon show on Cool-102.

Brad has fought the good fight against ALS for nearly 4 years.
