Backstage at the Tent

This summer we have a string of amazingly talented country music stars coming to the Circus!

Darius Rucker, Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Martina McBride (TWICE!), Lyle Lovett, take your pick! Whether you’re a tried and true country fan or just like a little hint of country in your music we have something to please everyone.

And to prove we have the cream of the crop when it comes to country, here’s a little peak of what CMT has been highlighting this week in their newsletters:

- Trace Adkins signed on to the CMT’s May 12 concert to benfit disastor relief. (Plus, Ron White, another Music Circus 2011 performer, will be co-hosting the event.)

- CMT’s weekly “New Country Videos” Newsletter this week featured Darius Rucker’s “Together, Anything is Possible” and Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing.”

It’s going to be a good year for country fans at the Music Circus!

The Belle Brigade, who will be opening the k.d. lang & The Siss Boom Bang show in July, is having an awesome day today. Their new (self titled) album was released today in digital, CD and vinyl form. Pick up a copy here or on Amazon or iTunes.

Summer is getting closer and closer, and to prove it the Music Circus Box Office is opening for the 2011 season SATURDAY, APRIL 16!

This year marks the Music Circus’ 60th Anniversary and to celebrate we’re making the box office opening event bigger and better than ever!  This year’s event includes:

• Live music by New City Cowboys and Katrin
• A Taste of Cohasset featuring food samples from 5 South Main, Bia Bistro and Constantine’s
• Enter-to-win raffle prizes including gift certificates to L.L. Bean, Tedeschi’s Food Shops and Not Your Average Joe’s; a boogie board signed by The Beach Boys; a baseball signed by Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia; and more!
• A display of photos, posters and playbills spanning the Music Circus’ 60-year history in Cohasset presented by the Cohasset Historical Society
• Art displays and interactive peices from the South Shore Arts Center
• Displays by Cohasset Chamber of Commerce business members
• Live visits from radio stations WPLM and WATD
• An apperance by Boston Music Spotlight
• Complimentary donuts, water and coffee

The event kicks off at 11:30 AM but come early if you want to be the first in line! The box office officially opens for the season at 12 noon! Treat yourself this weekend AND this summer with a fun-filled Saturday of entertainment and tickets to your favorite summer show!
